Thousands of people have fled their homes amid massive floods in Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Cleanup operations have begun in some areas, but others were braced for worse flooding as river levels continued to rise in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, and regions to the west. Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced that 44 people had died as a result of the emergency: 16 in Serbia, 27 in Bosnia and one in Croatia.
