Authorities in London boarded up memorials including a statue of British wartime leader Winston Churchill on Friday amid fears of clashes between anti-racism protesters and far-right groups. All over the world, statues of controversial people are being toppled in protest of racism.

A Black Lives Matter group in London called off a demonstration planned for June 13, saying the presence of the counter-protesters would make it unsafe.
