Russian artistic swimmer Svetlana Romashina won her seventh career Olympic gold medal on August 7 as part of Russia’s winning team. It was the sixth consecutive gold medal for Russia in the team event. China took the silver, while Ukraine got the bronze. Romashina, 31, became the most successful Olympic artistic swimmer ever when she won gold in the duet competition on August 4. It was her third consecutive gold in that event.
