Hundreds of Trump supporters rallied in Washington DC on the evening of January 5, 2021 ahead of the expected certification by the U.S. Congress of former Vice President Joe Biden's win in the November 2020 election. Trump and his supporters have made widely debunked claims, without credible evidence, that there was widespread fraud in the election. Some protesters turned violent at night, confronting police and clashing with counter-protesters near the White House. The main demonstration by pro-Trump demonstrators will take place later on January 6 and the president has said he will join them. (16 PHOTOS)
